Gravity and Grace
This is a great store in Swan Street, Richmond. They have a selection of stylish, well designed furniture from a range of smaller, European manufacturers. This is furniture you won't be sick of the sight of within a couple of years, made to a high standard. They also have a great range of local and European accessories.Highly recommended!

The Hanging
On Tuesday evening the four pictures for our exhibiton were hung. It was an interesting experience watching Marita and Ruth work. It was a joy to see these pictures which I have gotten to know and love through their reproductions hanging on the wall. They really speak to me and look stunning on the walls

an exhibition at Gravity and Grace
We are working with gallerysmith to present the following works by Ruth Fleishman at the showroom. It will be interesting to see how this presentation works as a concept.

Ruth Fleishman
Dwelling series
Ruth Fleishman’s work looks to the way societies and families construct
a sense of place. These concepts stem from her interest in
impermanence, transience and dislocation of the migrant experience
and how these mould identity, relationships to land and home.
The images explore the notion of ‘creating a home’ using modelmaking
as a process for establishing a constructed space. Landscape
digitisation creates a utopian but equally foreign environment that is
unrecognisable as either the mother land or the new country.
Ruth Fleishman received her Master of Fine Arts from RMIT in 2007 after
completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1993. In 2007 she was awarded
the RMIT-Seimens Scholarship and later undertook a residency at the
John David Mooney Foundation in Chicago USA. She has been
exhibiting since 1996 and lives and works in Melbourne.
$1450.00 each (framed)
